HOLY HELL WHAT WAS 2020
Alright, listen up. Last year was painful for everyone. Literally everyone. In some freaking way 2020 was a shit show for every single person at some point. The first wedding I photographed was in March and the day after their wedding there was a lockdown. Then, it was chaos for months. No one knew what to do. I didn’t photograph a “full” wedding day until August, which was SO bizarre. My entire summer was filled with navigating through postponements. But guess what? Some of my couples that were supposed to have their big day STILL got married. I absolutely loved that I was still able to be a part of a couple’s special commitment to each other, even if that was just a ceremony in their own backyard, or at their church. I have never experienced such a unique set of circumstances in my entire life. I don’t plan to showcase images in masks in the years to come, so this blog post will always be a snapshot to showcase a very bizarre year in history.
I will say that the ONE positive thing I can say about this situation was how I was challenged like never before and I was still able to pull through. I can’t help but to thank each and every single one of you who were patient, and kind during this very unknown time. I was legitimately thinking about signing up for Door Dash at one point, worried I would need an extra source of income. But my couples were determined to keep me in business because even though I had a slog of slow months, I was still working consistently and I know not a lot of people can say the same, so thank you.
Here are some fun facts !
I witnessed 21 couples get married this year.
I photographed 32 engagement sessions
I photographed 10 newborn sessions which is the most newborn sessions I have photographed than any other year.
A lot of these images have multiple pictures from the same wedding because I wanted to show off the entire process with me from beginning to end: engagement, wedding day, maternity, family. I am working very hard to make it clear to my couples that I am here for you through all of your big life moments. I want our relationship to surpass the wedding day. <3
Here’s to a better new year!
