What I love most about weddings are the little details that reflect the personalities of the lovely couple. Let’s dive into five creative ways to add personalized wedding touches, along with plenty of inspiration to make your celebration unique and unforgettable!

Personalized Wedding Details
Starting off strong, let’s talk about personalized details you can include on your special day! My couples have had incredible ideas so here are some to give you inspiration for your wedding! Nick and Lizz had a fun newspaper with a crossword puzzle. It’s such a cool idea to have a game on the ceremony program! I’ve also seen colorful or specialized cufflinks, socks, or shoes–the perfect subtle way to add personality to your outfit. You could also have your guests sign something other than a book, like something you can use or hang on your wall. Some ideas are special frames, wood pieces, and vinyl records. It’s something you can see versus a book shelved away for years!

Another ideas is to tie in to a nearby holiday like Emily and Camden did. They had a light vintage spooky theme in October which I am completely obsessed with! And last but definitely not least, if you absolutely love your pets, think about ways to include them! You could name a specialized drink after them, put their faces on socks, or even have them as a cardboard cut out for a photo booth. Hannah and Andrew even went back to their apartment for a photoshoot with their kittens before heading to their reception! It’s these personalized wedding touches that won’t go unnoticed by guests and make the day all the more memorable for you and your love.

Choose Traditions
Next, think about what traditions you want to have. Just because you are having a wedding does not mean you have to follow every tradition! You don’t have to have a wedding party or flower girl/ring bearer. You don’t have to hide away from your guests before your ceremony if you don’t want to. You don’t have to do all the reception activities like a parent dance or garter toss. Organize your day exactly how YOU want it to be! Remember, the beauty of the day comes from your love for one another–not having a wedding you don’t enjoy!

DIY Your Personalized Wedding Touches
One of my favorite tips is to make something for your wedding! One of my previous couples made their own vibrant green shawl for wedding portraits to keep warm! Another couple DIY’d their guest seating chart and all decor for their wedding. How cool is that!? I even made my own rug for my wedding ceremony (I’m still so proud of this), and every time I look back on photos I love seeing the personalized wedding touches that made my wedding my own.

Have a Unique Event or Experience
Having something unexpected at your wedding is a sure way to make a memorable experience for your guests (and for yourself!). Some unique events or experiences I’ve seen are adorable puppies at cocktail hour, a fun magician, live music, disposable cameras on tables for guests to use, and a chef’s experience where someone cooks your food or dessert in a specialized way! The possibilities are truly endless when it comes to making your wedding uniquely yours!

Make Your Ceremony Personalized!
One of my favorite tips is to have a family member or friend be your officiant! Plus, in Missouri and Kansas it’s so easy to get officiated, literally anyone can do it! Having a significant person in your life officiating will make your ceremony all the more special. And of course, I have to mention writing personalized wedding vows. Whether these are in front of your guests (cue the tears) or just by yourselves, it adds an extra layer of sentiment to the day. Racquel and Samuel read letters to each other after their first look, making this time before their ceremony so special!
