AJ and Hannah’s romantic wedding and reception at The Guild KC was unforgettable! The day was filled with intimate moments, happy tears, iconic photoshoots, and lots of dancing! Hannah and I actually met years before at her friend’s wedding, so when she reached out to me I was beyond thrilled to be a part of her special day! Hannah and AJ are perfect for one another and the love they share is so inspiring. Their love story began one night at Up-Down Arcade Bar and the rest was history. How fun is that!? Keep reading to hear all about their unique and fun-filled wedding day!

Emotional First Look and Heartfelt Vows

The day began at the stunning Loews Kansas City Hotel as they got ready for the day ahead. One of my favorite moments was the private exchange of handwritten vows Hannah and AJ shared after their first look! Away from the hustle and bustle, in the intimacy of the beautiful stairwell, they poured their hearts out to each other and many tears were shed. It was such an emotional moment and I’m so glad I was able to document this for them to look back on for years to come!

Love-Filled Wedding Ceremony

Next we headed to Country Club United Methodist Church to get them officially married! I just adore the tones of this church and its modern yet cozy feel. Tucked away in the alcoves, I was able to get some precious shots more close up than normal, like their parents’ tears and the sweet ring exchange. It was such a beautiful and joyful celebration for this lovely couple!

Iconic Fire Station Wedding Portraits

After they were officially married we were off to the fire department AJ works at. I was SO stoked about this. Anything that adds unique elements for the couples I photograph is an A+ in my book! They absolutely killed it during these portraits. I 100% recommend going somewhere fun and meaningful for memorable wedding photos!

Furry Friends Photoshoot

Before the reception at The Guild, we had a quick break for furry friends. Their cats, Hazel and Biscuit, were a requirement to be photographed in their little flower girl dresses. Although Biscuit was not for it, Hazel did not hesitate to strut her dress! If you know me, if cats are involved, you know I’m going to make it happen!

Epic Wedding Reception at The Guild KC

Closing out the night, the grand finale went down at The Guild KC. Decked out with a carefully curated color scheme, the venue became the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable reception! The night was filled with laughter, dancing, and heartfelt toasts. They truly transformed this space into a lively party, reflecting the joy and celebration of Hannah and AJ’s union. Everyone was having the best time! I cannot recommend this venue enough!

Hear from the Bride Herself!

“Kelsey was the first vendor we booked for our wedding. She was the photographer for one of our friend’s wedding and when we saw her in action, we knew she was the photographer for us! We chose her because she made sure to make our wedding day photos unique to us. We got to take pictures with everything that was important to us as a couple (from fire station to stopping by our home to get a picture with our cats!). My husband doesn’t love taking a bunch of pictures and she made him feel comfortable in front of the camera. We also loved that she photographs pregnancies and families–how cool to have a photographer be able to capture all of your life moments?! Plus, her welcoming and open nature is wonderful. 10/10 recommend”
