Katie and Derek were flying in for their engagement session from Chicago, and they asked “hey could we…get tacos”?
I met Katie when she was a bridesmaid for a wedding I photographed back in 2018. When she reached out to me regarding her own wedding I was so so EXCITED. We immediately reconnected and I was so thankful I was open for their October wedding date. Katie and Derek currently live in Chicago, so they were flying in for a weekend, and they graciously spent their evening with me. It was an absolutely gorgeous day in Kansas City.
I have ALWAYS encouraged my couples that there is not limit to ideas on what they could do for their engagement session, so when they casually mentioned tacos, I immediately suggested Mission Taco in the Crossroads District. So that’s where we met up. We had an early dinner, ate some tacos, grabbed a drink at Hitides Coffee, and then ended our magical evening at Liberty Memorial where Katie wore a gorgeous emerald dress with combat boots?! Obsessed.
I absolutely love their playful hilarious energy. I am so freaking stoked for their day this year.
