Bride and groom at their elegant wedding at The Grand Hall at Power & Light.

Heather and Chris had the most incredible Kansas City wedding at The Grand Hall at Power & Light! It was the perfect blend of elegance and personality, but before I dive into all the details of their special day, I have to share with you their romantic love story! Believe it or not, Heather and Chris actually met in elementary school! After many years of life apart, they finally reconnected and sparks flew. Hearing their story and seeing the love they have for each other made capturing their wedding all the more special. Keep reading to see all the details that made their wedding so beautiful and unique!

Vibrant Kansas City Wedding Details

Okay, first we have to talk about how colorfully purple their wedding was! From the elegant florals to the beautiful bridesmaid dresses, I’m in awe of how they transformed the space at The Grand Hall at Power & Light! The gold decor and tableware paired perfectly with the colors and vibe of the evening. The Morrisons put a lot of attention into every single detail and it clearly showed! This Kansas City wedding venue is perfect for making your wedding exactly how you envision it, and that’s exactly what they did!

Rooftop Portraits at The Grand Hall at Power & Light

After Heather and Chris had a first look, we took couple portraits on the rooftop! These are my favorite photos from the day! The view of downtown Kansas City in the background made for the most stunning shots. These moments with just the two of them were so special. Heather looked beyond gorgeous in her dress and Chris couldn’t keep his eyes off her!

Unique Personal Touches

I always love when my couples include quirky details into their wedding day. Heather loves Harry Potter so it only made sense that she sported some Hufflepuff socks at the reception! She also had a dress change for an evening full of dancing with her loved ones. The pure joy on the Morrisons’ and their guests’ faces were so precious, and I’m so thankful to have been able to capture it all!

Sweet Words from the Bride

“Choose Kelsey! That’s the review…. but seriously I looked through a lot of portfolios in my search for a wedding photographer. I’m very sentimental and finding the right person to photograph my day was a huge deal for me. I wanted someone that wasn’t just great at taking posed shots but who could really capture organic moments. My husband doesn’t love taking pictures and the more you ask him to pose the more awkward it gets. So it was super important to have a photographer that could put him at ease and get some great candid photos.

Kelsey was amazing! We loved her vibe from our first meeting. She made my husband feel so comfortable and got his genuine smile and personality to come through. She was so helpful in coming up with a back up plan when we had to scrap our original engagement shoot location due to weather. On our wedding day, she helped keep everyone organized to get the photos I wanted. She was also very understanding when I was over taking posed photos. From our engagement shots to the previews from our wedding day, every photo has been absolutely beautiful. I would choose Kelsey again in a heartbeat.”
