CANDID ENGAGEMENT PICTURES AT VINTAGE SPEAKEASY IN KANSAS CITY
We kicked off with Kansas City engagement pictures at one of my favorite hidden gems, Swordfish Tom’s. Tucked away in the heart of downtown, this vintage speakeasy set the tone for a relaxed and personal experience. The staff, as always, were so kind and welcoming. (This was actually my second session at the bar, and they made sure it felt like home). There’s something about beginning an engagement session with a cocktail in hand that instantly breaks the ice. No awkward posing, just great drinks, good conversation, and a cozy space to let their connection shine for lots of unique engagement photos to be captured.
A ROMANTIC PICNIC ON THE GRASS WITH PIZZA AND BEER
After our stop at Swordfish Tom’s, we headed over to the Nelson-Atkins Museum lawn, with a pizza box from Grinders KC and a couple of cold Boulevard beers. A picnic on the grass with shoes kicked off and chatting about life and love was exactly what made these Kansas City engagement pictures so special. We wrapped up the evening with some playful portraits on the steps of the Nelson providing the perfect romantic candids. This engagement session reminded me why I always encourage couples to think outside the box. When you plan an experience that feels like you, the photos tell a story that’s true to your personalities. I can’t wait to shoot Dominic and Alexis’ wedding this fall! I already know it is going to be so special.
